Holistic Oversight and Hospital Management
The Hospital Services Department is tasked with the overall management and administration of Adamawa State’s public hospitals. This includes ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, judicious resource distribution, and strict adherence to both national and international healthcare standards
Quality Assurance & Patient-Centered Processes
A core function of the department is to implement robust quality assurance mechanisms. These are designed to monitor and evaluate hospital performance rigorously, improving patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Care is coordinated across admissions, discharge, and follow-up services to create a seamless and empathetic patient experience
Staff Excellence & Capacity Building
The department also oversees the professional conduct and competency of healthcare personnel—doctors, nurses, and support staff—through training programs, supervision, and performance evaluation, cultivating a culture of professional growth and accountability maintain readiness for unexpected challenges

Nursing Administration — Coordinates nursing staff across wards and resources.
Support Services — Oversees maintenance, security, sanitation, and auxiliary needs.
Quality Assurance & Patient Safety — Ensures compliance with healthcare standards and patient-centered care initiatives.

State-Level Reforms & Upgrades
Under the Fintiri administration, the hospital has seen significant upgrades—including fencing, sanitation improvements, and the installation of solar energy systems. A modern molecular laboratory and additional dialysis equipment have been added to reduce referrals outside the state Notably, the OPD complex and lab infrastructure are also nearing full completion as part of a broader healthcare modernization across Adamawa State
Medical Leadership
At the helm of hospital operations is the Medical Director, appointed to ensure clinical effectiveness, staff coordination, and institutional revitalization. In 2022, Governor Umaru Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reforming the hospital—enhancing infrastructure such as water, electricity, solar power installations, molecular laboratories, and dialysis services
